Welcome to Gothenburg

Göteborg is Sweden’s second city and
represents a unique mix of cosmopolitan
pulse and small-town charm. It is the home of several global corporations such as Volvo and SKF, and has a distinct maritime environment and a combination of older, well-preserved districts and exciting new developments.

Although Göteborg’s nickname in Sweden is “Little London”, the city is more like San Francisco due to its west-coast location, many bridges, water, trams and seafood restaurants. As the leading congress and event city of Scandinavia, Göteborg offers a wide variety of entertainment, historic sights, museums, shopping, first-class restaurants, cosy pubs and cultural events – almost everything within walking distance from the centre.

And since Swedes themselves have voted Göteborg the friendliest city in Sweden, all of this is enjoyed in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
