The Internet passed TV as an advertising channel during the third quarter of 2007 according to IRM, the Swedish Institute for Advertising and Media Statistics. But when viewed from the perspective of the full year, TV is a larger advertising channel. Internet advertising now constitutes 14 percent of the advertising pie, and with growth of 30 percent, the Internet accounts for all growth in the Swedish advertising market, this according to IRM.

It may be Sweden's second city, but Gothenburg is Scandinavia's Christmas capital. In December, its tree-lined avenues are decked out with 5 million fairy lights, and hundreds of market stands sell handicrafts, roast chestnuts and goblets of glögg, a potent mulled wine that does wonders against the Nordic chill. Europe's Eldorado for entrepreneurs
